Overview

While attempting to use the Velixo NX Connection Manager to define a connection to your ERP using Single Sign-on (SSO), the following message is displayed:

Velixo NX needs permission to:

View your basic profile

Cause

Velixo NX is built on the modern Office extensibility platform. While this is primarily used to provide functionality for Excel for Mac and Excel Online, some users also work with Velixo NX on Excel for Windows because deployment is simplified.

Velixo NX does need to authenticate with Office via SSO; it does not request any other permission or personal information.

If you click the Velixo publisher name (with its Verified Publisher badge)...

... you will see verification that it is the Velixo NX app (published by Velixo) that is asking for the authentication:

The original message is simply asking for the user's consent to perform the necessary authentication.

Resolution

Clicking the Accept button will allow Velixo NX to temporarily access Office 365 and proceed with the process.
